This is NOT a cotton material but viscose/bamboo (a thin material commonly used in children's pajamas). The shorts are so thin that they cannot be worn as shorts but can be worn under a dress or to sleep in. You can see your underwear through them. In addition, there are no labels with care instructions on the clothing or on the packaging. I was very disappointed with the quality and the misinformation that it was cotton. The colors are also not as bright as in the picture.

Goes well as a t-shirt with a dress, but I wouldn't recommend wearing it with a t-shirt. We need it for a swimsuit so I think it will work too. My baby is very skinny so it dangles from it a bit so you won't see anything unless it splits.

I bought these for my 6 year old granddaughter to wear under dresses and skirts. She's very picky about how her clothes fit her body, so I was pleasantly surprised when she actually wore them. They stretch gently so they don't constrict. I was very pleasantly surprised.

I told my granddaughter to wear them under loose clothes. They fit great and different colors match different outfits. The only downside is that the material is very thin and bunches up around her crotch, requiring me to stretch/tighten my legs a lot. They are very soft and comfortable.
