Misleading characteristics of light bars

I bought a 20" light bar advertised as 288W and 28800 lumens. As an engineer, I was suspicious of that statement. 288 watts is a lot of power and would require a current draw of 24 amps from a 12 volt system. Pros
  • Reflector cup upgrade: wide reflector plate on both sides offers different refraction angles, ideal for ambient lighting
Cons
  • Big and bulky
