I had a smaller top case and bought it for a trip with my wife so we could have room for our two helmets during stops. It worked great. My wife also said that the backrest is very strong.

The Outback name is misleading as it is not designed for off-road use. The first long ride on bad roads and the box has very little play in the holder. Completely unacceptable. Was very happy initially, it snaps right into the brackets and the included hardware made it easy to install. But there is a bee. Fight for weeks after purchase to keep him on his toes. Enough for 2 Shoei helmets with Sena-Coms on the outside. Very positive seal on the lid. Convenient closure in gloves. Very smooth removal system with a clear locking noise. You can take the key out when unlocking and still snap the lid open (contrary to what I've read in other reviews). The padding is a nice touch. Plenty of room for an aux kit. the lights. I have retrofitted the BMW Vario panniers and the difference is amazing. In my opinion one of the best boxes on the market. Installation and removal takes seconds. The build quality is good and the overall size is huge. There is a limit to the weight you must put inside. So don't be surprised if you think you can fill it with your heaviest gear.
