Olympus E300 for camera and photography

Great camera. Easy to learn and work with. Outstanding image quality. Acquired the Olympus name based on previous experience with Olympus cameras (OM10 SLR) and was not disappointed.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Out of fashion

I was upset that the camera does not shoot clearly

I was frustrated that the camera didn't always take crisp, clear photos. I like the camera but the unpredictability is frustrating. I will come back and try another Olympus series.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Something else

This is a great albeit dated camera

Another item I bought 'used' through Revain. This is a great, albeit dated, camera. The price was great and it came with a full set of accessories. The foil card flap didn't work, but was quickly attached with Velcro and superglue. I have taken hundreds of pictures with this camera since it was first introduced. I am very happy with it.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Available in white only

Olympus E-300 on digital cameras

I was very pleased with this item as it was a valentine's gift for my wife until she tried to use it, so far it has been repaired twice due to the same problem, the lenses don't focus. I'm not sure if this is the manufacturer's fault or not but I trust the shop and give it 5 stars for the price of this item and for the speed with which I received it.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Style 90

THE BEST digital SLR camera!

I received an Olympus E-300 (EVOLT) for Christmas and am very happy with the performance of the camera. The look, feel, handling, image quality and many features are exactly what I was looking for in a DSLR. The focal plane dust removal system is unmatched by Canon and Nikon. The imager chip is Kodak KAF8300CE, a high performance CCD. Since one of my intended uses is astrophotography, I'm interested in getting the best performance out of my DSLR. I would recommend this DSLR to anyone interested

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • negative gift

Poor design, suitable for digital cameras

This is a warning to Revain customers interested in purchasing an Olympus E Volt 300. This may be a great camera, but it has a serious design flaw that should make you pause before you buy and consider the competition. The remote release (RM-CB 1) does not fit in the camera body. You have to buy this HLD-3 "adapter" for almost $100 just to "adapt" the remote shutter release to the camera body. Combine this "surprise" with around $75 for an RM-CB 1 remote release and you're looking at over $175โ€ฆ

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Great value for money

Before purchasing the Evolt 300 I read numerous reviews about it and Nikon, Canon, Sigma and Fujifilm DSLRs with similar specs. A technically sound and advanced digital SLR camera that delivers photo quality comparable to the Nikon D70 and superior to the Canon Digital Rebel XT. So far, so good. I then visited various retailers - from specialty Photoshop shops to Best Buy and Circut City - so I could see and handle every camera in my price/performance range: $800-$1400, 6+ megapixels, a decentโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • There are cons
