Great environment in Visual Studio Code

I like that it has all the tools you need to write native code. It also supports multiple platforms such as Linux/Unix, Windows, MacOSX, Android etc. The documentation can be sometimes confusing but if you know what your doing it shouldn't be too hard to figure out how things work. There are some quirks with using certain libraries which can make debugging difficult at times. If you're looking for something that will allow you to build native applications without having to go through another…

Pros
  • Can support development across different OS's easily while offering low level control
  • Supports most languages including C++ (C style), inline assembler functions & JAVA in an object oriented way.
  • Excellent GUI designer toolset
  • Has full debugger capability along side source viewer functionality

Great software designed especially: Open Watcom

I am using open watcom to develop applications that are used in a scientific project where we have to manage quite a lot of data. It is very simple to use, the user interface is easy to handle and it has excellent documentation. It provides an API for writing custom functions, which is really helpful when you want to perform some operations not supported by the library itself. For example, one of our projects requires us to calculate the difference between two files, so we created a function to…

Pros
  • Easy wayto install
  • Documentation available online.
  • Ability create own code (functions) from scratch
Cons
  • All fine

Open Watcom - Open Source Compiler For C & Basic

The best part I love most was that it worked with my existing code base without too much effort unlike other compilers like Codeblocks which need to be recompiled when you add or change any library used by your project. It also helped me debug problems at high speeds than normal compiler because this would compile faster. There are so many options given but sometimes they get over powered by user. You have to learn how to work them well otherwise your compiling might take longer time than…

Pros
  • It also helped me debug problems at high speeds than normal compiler because this would compile faster
Cons
  • Some problems

Very good learning tool that is easy to use

I used it to make my homework easier by creating simple programs that were not readily available online or could be found easily elsewhere such as flashcards! The syntax was confusing at first but once you got over some initial confusion your code will come out perfectly fine with no errors to speak off :) Overall good learning tool if looking just get past being confused when seeing something different than what u are familiarized w/ already :). It helped me learn how certain things operate…

Pros
  • Easy access
  • Relatively low cost
  • Low requirements (not heavy)
Cons
  • Not free software
  • No official support
