Based on other reviews I knew it would run small so I made it 1 larger. The racket was a perfect fit for my 4 month old. I folded the bottom an inch and it fit her head snugly without flexing. He kept her warm at night when the outside temperature dropped below 60 degrees. She wore a hat under the hood of her jacket and in the tent at night. It washes well and is really soft. Cons: size. It's really not a baggy hat. I wasn't looking for it but if you are you will be disappointed.

I liked this because it was made in Canada (compared to China for most merino hats) but other reviews aren't joking when they say it runs small. I wear a 7 1/4 -7 3/8 baseball cap and the XL is too tight on my head. I'm keeping it on to see if it stretches a bit but for now I can only wear it for about 30-45 minutes before my head starts to hurt.
