I had to buy this lamp as it was the only lamp replacement option in my apartment (San Francisco). I don't like the base that holds the bulb to the side because every bulb I had to replace would have the bulb detach from the base of the lamp unit (not the base of my exhaust fan). This is more a description of the poor design of the exhaust fan in my bathroom than the poor design of the lightbulb itself.
