Disappointing - not as good as previous models

I bought the ZS8 to replace the ZS3 which was (and still is) a great camera, except for one issue which I will detail when shooting video. One review I read says the ZS8 solved this problem. It's not like this. First off, let me say that both the ZS3 and ZS8 are very good cameras in general. For the most part, they take great pictures (clear, good colors), switch between shots quickly, have a good interface, and are generally pleasant to use. And they fit in my jeans pocket. Great for point and shoot

I bought this camera as a backup for my DSLR and when I just want to travel light. So far it hasn't disappointed. First the cons: Like most (if not all) point-and-shoot photography, indoor and flash photos suffer a bit. The flash leaves a harsh metallic tint in the images, and red-eye is a common occurrence. The camera has a zoom out mode but I never use it, I find the "double flash" confuses posing subjects and leads to movement and awkward facial expressions. I also don't like the fact that…

AMAZING CAMERA! best digital camera

I bought this camera in January 2012 for a planned trip to Ireland in April. The camera exceeded my expectations in every respect.
