Buy with Confidence

I wasn't expecting too much from a cheap hobby vise but they are quite strong and well made (made in USA). I added a clamp base as well as heavy wide jaws. Panavise offers a small range of different sockets, outlets and accessories to meet your specific needs.

Pros
  • Easy to Install
Cons
  • Defects

Like all good reviews.

I bought this vise after getting one of the cheap Chinese products Revain sells for around $20. After six months of use, the cheap one was almost done, didn't hold up well and the tilt function was almost unusable. American made panavise, quality casting and smooth adjustment. If you use it regularly, I strongly recommend spending more on Panavise.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not automatic

Almost as good as ever!

I used one of these at work many years ago. I think they were made more carefully then. It's still a very good, very handy vise for small parts. The ability to turn your head makes it very convenient. I bought brass jaws to replace the originals. Apart from the fact that the original jaw screws were too short, I really like them. I replaced the screws with screws from my local hardware store. Now it works great.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Band

For a light vise, this works well. I would have liked a better locking mechanism. I had to enlarge the holes on some of the battery terminals and I used a vise to hold them while I drilled them out. Although I tightened the set clamp as tight as I could, the vise head spun with the drill as soon as I started drilling. I would be concerned about doing anything with this vise that puts a lot of strain on the head as I don't trust the clamp very much, but it's great for light duty tasks.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • No Power

The best mini vise you can get.

This thing is so cool I'm crying I didn't open it 30 years ago. Super good quality, does what it promises. I'm so glad I bought this instead of one of the cheap Chinese mini vises. This is one of those products where you still get what you pay for. I bolted it to a piece of steel rather than a tabletop so I could clamp the steel tube in a large vise so it didn't get in the way when not in use. prefect for fine gunnery; soft enough to hold the bolt or frame and strong enough to knock out…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Fantastic hobby tool

This vise is incredibly useful for any job, from light to moderate. It has served me very well both when soldering and when using a rotary cutting tool. I immediately paired it with a PanaVise 308 weight to take it from 3 pounds to 8 pounds. Installation was trivial and meant this blemish simply wouldn't move or flip. It also raises the vise so the head can be positioned with the handle up and the jaws in a horizontal position. A relatively simple modification I would like to make to the vise…

Pros
  • Vise compatible with all PanaVise base mounts and many other accessories
Cons
  • Expensive

Great mini vise. Thumbs up!

So I bought this mini vise for my current hobby, watch repair, but mainly to hold the circuit board while soldering. I bought it thinking it was a crappy plastic vise. Boy was I wrong! This vise is AMAZING, made of metal, the perfect weight and more than enough for what I need. In fact they have exceeded all of my expectations and I know much heavier items can be used with these vises. In addition, the flexibility of this tool, allowing it to be rotated to any degree and fixed in any desired…

Pros
  • Original PanaVise vise suitable for hobbies, electronics, small DIY jobs and work in the workplace
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Copes with many tasks quite well.

Panavise products are legendary in the electronics community. And not for nothing. These are the right size for many small hobby projects and they offer a lot of placement flexibility. They are also just the right weight. Heavy enough to stay in place but light enough to pack away when not in use. They also have mounting holes so you can screw them to your desk if needed. There are just a few things I don't like about this product. First adjust the position of the ball head. That means you can…

Pros
  • Continuous heat resistance up to 200 F (93 C), short term heat resistance up to 300 F (149 C)
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
