You should definitely do the same for your car

Obvious Installation a. The RAM chip isn't the most difficult part, while unfortunately I have a compact desktop. The card was a little big to fit under all the wires and cages inside. Once I removed almost everything from the desktop, putting it back was easy enough, wasn't it? I really doubt it. It took a bit of work to put everything back in place and I booted up my new RAM chip. Nice and fast, immediately felt the difference.

Pros
  • Very good price

Won't run consistently at advertised speeds

I recently put together my first proper Ryzen build and Ryzen's word seems to be get the fastest RAM you can afford because it's quite gaming performance has a lot of impact on you. I wanted 32GB at an affordable price so I went with this memory as the advertised speed of 3200MHz was the lowest I wanted to work at. This memory can't handle that speed, I had to drop it down to 2900MHz in the BIOS to run games like Rust and Subnautica without crashing every hour or so. I spent hours fixing this…

Good choice Best choice for internals

After extensive research, I decided on the Patriot Viper Steel 16G memory card for my MSI mainboard. The only issue I had was the "stiffness" which made it difficult to slide all the way into the slot. When I first installed it, the LED on the MO signaled a "compatibility issue" which at first made me think I had the wrong RAM selected. It took a lot of effort to fully deploy and now it works perfectly. Patriot's technical department is courteous and competent. Thank you!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Expensive

Ideal for upgrading pre-built gaming PCs

I need to upgrade my iBUYPOWER PC to 16GB RAM in Dual Channel. It came with 8GB of XPG CL16 RAM and I went with it as it has identical RAM speeds and timings. It works great with XPG RAM and both can be overclocked to 3200MHz with the XMP profile loaded on my ASUS Prime B450-M motherboard. Dual channel memory is more important these days, even on systems equipped with discrete graphics cards. On average, I noticed a 5-15% increase in gaming performance. I would definitely buy more of these if I

Works but difficult to install

Compared to normal RAM sticks, the thing is difficult to install. It's bigger and bulkier than most RAM sticks I've seen. So if you're short on space, good luck placing in the slots. It also requires a bit more force than regular RAM sticks before the stick really audibly snaps into place. Time according to the usual settings of this type. Your computer may not start if you have misconfigured it in the BIOS. As this stick requires 1.35V from what I've seen.

This memory failed repeatedly.

Built a new 8 core machine and wanted lightning speed so got a 32GB 3600Hz memory card. This car was the fastest car I have ever used. However, every two or three days it restarted and gave various error messages. After months of searching for this issue, I finally called the systems engineer I work with. He was also stumped but said the first thing he would try was an 8GB 3000Hz flash drive to see what would happen. The 8GB stick is also a Patriot product. The new machine has been running for…

The XMP profile is not stable. Expect base speeds

As mentioned in many other reviews, the 'tested' XMP profile for this RAM is actually unstable. For the kit I received, I can't overclock my new gaming rig without BSOD. It feels like I've been betrayed. I can play all games (Rocket League, Warzone, Apex, etc.) at base speed. As soon as I use it in an XMP profile or even at the tested timings of 2800MHz or 3000MHz at different combinations of clock speeds, all games crash and computer BSODs. I also used the Ryzen DRAM calculator but it didn't…
