This is a nice toy, but there are two drawbacks. First, the forms are too short. Our one-year-old can rotate the shapes to fit a square hole, which kind of defeats the shape sorter's purpose. The rope is too short for my son (12 months old) to pull the alligator.

I like the toy, but the parts needed did not pass quality control. As a result, we got two rhombuses instead of one square one. UPDATE: I contacted the brand directly, it was a little hard to find. I found 4 out of 5 pieces go through the square groove when rotated correctly which defeats the purpose of this toy. The pieces just aren't thick enough to prevent this. Mine arrived with a little damage so I sent it back. Because of the first problem, I decided not to get a replacement. It's really really cute and I'm sad it didn't work out.

I have an 18 month old grandson who has trouble getting blocks into holes. He prefers to just lug it around. ;) However, when he does this, once inside, the pieces seem to fall out very easily.
