🍽️ Winterberry 16-Piece Dinnerware Set by Pfaltzgraff - Service for 4 Review

They are beautiful. I was looking for a classic pattern that can be used in a formal or casual setting. I didn't want another thin china set and these suit my needs. My picture is of a formal dining room, but I could have used them on my Christmas plaid breakfast tablecloth with napkins instead of charger plates. I am very satisfied and bought two sets, so I have 8 sets of dishes.

I was disappointed when I started taking them out of the box. I took out the first 4 cups and didn't even have my glasses on and I could see they didn't look good. They look like seconds to me. If I was in a regular store I wouldn't buy them. So I sent them back. Very disappointed because I was counting on them for Christmas. Also disappointed with the Pfatzgraff brand. I expected better.

I love this set, it's very simple but very pretty. I rated it three stars as I still like them, but I didn't take it higher because if you use a knife to cut food (and it's not even a sharp steak knife) you end up with those gray scratches on the plate, bowl and even cups by turning the spoon in the coffee. The green has a muted edge of color, not as wide as the original sets, and has many small imperfections (look at what looks like a white scratched part on the green, they're on all four panels).
