💡 Dimmable Philips Halogen PAR30S Flood Light Review

I use them on my 4x2 panther chameleons and they have been great. I would recommend this bulb to any reptile owner trying to get an adjustable heat source for seasonal changes or just because you're tired of guessing what wattage to buy. Not to mention you can set your temperature so it can be used on very low settings and potentially last longer. Overall a great bulb. I am writing this review a year after purchase and the lightbulb has just died.

I purchased 6 bulbs and installed them in February 2018 and was delighted with their quality and durability. Mid March I had five out of six lightbulbs that blew with minimal use, I even have old Par30s sitting next to these bulbs in my living room cubicles that lasted over a year but these only lasted a month. with a half. I'm hoping there will be some sort of replacement or refund as I've spent a good amount of money on these bulbs.

I have two of these in the recessed lights in the kitchen, I haven't had any problems with either the light or the longevity of the bulb. They work well with a dimmer and range from a brighter, cleaner yellow light to a brighter, dimmer yellow light at the other end of the spectrum - just right for your kitchen needs. I didn't play around with the dimmer that much because I needed bright lights at night or no lights at all for most of the day, so they held me for a while. No complaints!

Lots of fun colors and effects, but no warm ordinary light. Have these to remotely control the fireplace lights which are in the same switch as the ceiling fan. It works for this purpose, but we have to choose from colors that we don't really like. When the light is turned off with the remote control and then turned off and the wall switch is turned on, the light will come on. I didn't want to turn them off every time. Little did I know that the 'S' in PAR30S apparently means short neck and that PAR30 lamps can be supplied with different neck lengths. It wasn't for me as it was too far in the bank. The lumens also need to be considered. It's a *very* bright bulb, too bright for what we were looking for. (Note: Revain requires me to have a star rating, so I'm randomly rating 4. Meh. The kitchen and living room in my apartment are open floors so we use them as they are the only ones suitable for built-ins. The bulbs are VERY bright (definitely 75W equivalent) which is great, but as another poster said the beam is pretty narrow. We use three of these bulbs pointing in different directions (forwards, backwards, sideways) to illuminate a 950 m² living room. ft.
