Description of ⚡ Ultimate Power Solution: Introducing Pi-UpTime 2.0 UPS for Pi-4, Pi-3, and Other SBCs

Provides UPS using one or two rechargeable 18650 Lithium batteries in battery holder or connecting an external battery. Batteries are not included. Choice of Li-Ion, Li-Polymer or Li-Phosphate batteries. Please use unprotected batteries. Protected batteries will not fit in the holder. Power in via USB-C (recommended) or Micro-USB. Ideal for Pi-4 or Pi-3. Max 2.5A. Steady 5V output on UPS. Input V is passed through when power is available. Low input V is indicated via LED. On-board ADC allows Vin, Vout, Battery V and temperature monitoring via I2C. Sample Python code can be downloaded for use from Alchemy Power web site. Provision for On/Off switch as well as external connections for Power and battery. UPS 3.3V out for connecting sensors. Several safety features are built in. LED's indicate status, including when UPS is operational. Provision for external connectors for external Vin, Vout, Battery and I2C bus. Some soldering required for the connection.

Improved for Pi 4

I've been using Pi-UpTime boards for several years, several generations of Raspberry Pi Model B (3B, 3B+ and now 4B) and Zero W. This version of the Pi-UpTime board was designed to deliver higher current that is needed for the Pi 4B has worked well so far. This is a welcome and timely improvement as I found that the previous version of the Pi UpTime board could not supply enough power to reliably boot a lightly loaded Pi 3B+ on battery power. A suggestion for improvement would be to use…

Excellent Raspberry Pi UPS (or external 5V)

This device has saved countless databases from getting corrupted when I unplugged the wrong cable, my power went out, or even when I wanted to move the Pi from A to B without turning it off. The added features of the V2 product are a big improvement over the already great v1, especially the remote power connector is very useful for projects in custom enclosures.
