I needed a case like this for a small object made of hand-blown glass, from which the children of Italy took me. I wanted something that would protect the item with a lid and also display it well and that helped. It took a while to find the small lid because most of them were bigger than I needed.

I purchased this dome to replace a broken mantel clock. I needed exactly the outside diameter of 3 inches. Instead I got an outside diameter of 2 15/16 inches. It will not fit into an existing groove on the base of the clock. I need to create a matching brass collar that fits into the existing groove.

The glass of my dome broke while driving. It contains a very special irreplaceable item on the tree (included) and I have not been able to find any replacement glass that would fit on the tree before. It fits the dimensions as described. Looks perfect and has no defects. Arrived well packaged with no damage.

The dome with wooden base looks very nice. If you can put this in a place where it will never be touched, then this is the perfect display. Just be careful when cleaning it or moving it to a new place. Unfortunately the glass on top of the dome is very thin and cracked when I put it back in 'the original foam container' and took it to the show to use in my display. Usually the top of the dome is the strongest point, so I was surprised it broke here. But at that moment the glass was as thick as…
