Probably the only sure way is how long it will last. I started buying polos because they seemed to last forever. However, in recent years, no matter where I buy them, too many washes have punctured them, and some don't even last a few months before wearing out. These are fakes. Pictured to the left is an authentic black polo shirt purchased from Macy's, alongside a gray shirt from this bundle purchased here. The black doesn't shrink, the collar looks great and you can see that the guy's polo shirt has better stitching. The gray sat up like crazy, the collar was flab now and the polo was badly sewn. Just go to Macy's and buy them.

Wrong guy who wrote a review and left a photo of a stitched pony. I bought these shirts from this customer and directly from Polo. The ones I bought from Polo also don't match the way the pony was made. Some have the hammer angled up and some straight/side angled.
