Much less than I imagine. The skin is so shiny; reminds me of plastic. This is not at all what I expected. It's light and not as strong as I imagined. This is the first line I've bought and I think it works well, but I'll definitely be buying a bigger and thicker one soon.

It's real suede but not too grainy leather, it's dyed on the smooth side to give the impression of leather, but it's acrylic, there's hardly any pattern and it is not even cut. straight, so when you hold the handle you have to twist your hand a little to the left so it's uncomfortable to hold. In general I wouldn't recommend that the newspaper has better traction than this sling.

Excellent training for beginners on the sling. I would leave it for a linen sling. Works great with paste. Inexpensive enough to cut and replace. You'll probably end up buying a 3" at some point, so getting some practice with this 2 1/2 is a good start.
