I noticed that it is not possible to dose the solution with drops from a bottle; it just pours out. I put the solution in a dropper bottle for dosing. With so many reviews complaining about the packaging, you'd think the company would have picked up the cue to give their bottle another look.

Thrown in a box with a pair of airbags. Everything went through. Sent back for a refund. I'd love to give a decent review on a product but if it's packaged so poorly that it leaks profusely that's a bad start and deserves a review in and of itself. Never heard of this before but after checking here I was intrigued and then started researching elsewhere. A very useful and treasured item to always have on hand. You never know when a boiling water alert will pop up, or just for camping. Also harmless ingredients. I bought a small bottle for my BOB, camping, hiking, kayaking and more. Bought an 8 ounce bottle for home use. Highly recommended. Think of redundancy in everything.

I finally got a chance to try this product I ordered last week. I went for a walk in the mountains and filled one of my bottles with water from a stream. I added the amount of Purinize recommended on the bottle (love the easy-to-use dropper bottle), shook it, let it sit for about 20 minutes, then filtered into another bottle. We drank the whole liter and there was no aftertaste like with iodine-based products. I'm taking this on a trip to Yosemite next month. Good product!

Used it for a month in India and never had stomach problems. However, I was very careful and filtered the water through the MSR water station filter, leaving the water with drips in it. This was done to filter out the sediment created by the drops and also as a backup measure since I was in India after all. Update: I've added pictures showing Purinize being used on my tap water with a cloth filter (my Sawyer bag is also shown as I normally use it).
