This radio has good sound and nice features. I bought one for my wife for Mother's Day. But is this thing supposed to buzz, buzz and heat up while it's off and charging? It's pretty worrying!

If the ability to charge (to avoid being constantly plugged into the outlet) is your main reason - don't buy. About a week later it stopped working for me. Most other functions work, although I can't comment on the quality of the tuner.

Unrealistic for 15.00. I'm a radio amateur and I collect over 40 of these on the side, from a $6 special to the Zenith R7000 and Tec Sun PL880. It sounds so good on FM that I use it to listen to football games. SD cable and USB are great additions. I want SSB to be added at 10am.

Don't be rude if you give this product only three stars. It's lightweight and convenient with a handle. The flashlight part works well and the VHF band is good. However, I was specifically looking for a cheap AM radio and this one was disappointing as it only picks up two AM stations in my area, not the one I'm looking for. Otherwise a good buy for the money.

There are no shortwave. There is no built-in battery. AC power charges {4 D-cell} batteries. If you use normal batteries, they will be destroyed if the AC plug is connected at the same time. Leaking batteries damage the radio. fm is ok AM is rude. The SD card plugin works. I have yet to try the USB port for anything, and the DC port doesn't seem to do anything.
