📻 Optimized Radio Shack AM/FM/Shortwave Compact Portable Radio Review

Before purchasing this product, I had an identical device that I took with me on long trips. As a result, my old device started to stop working. I am very, very happy to have a new device that is fully functional. Apart from cosmetic scratches, the device works like new.

Pro: Lots of clock radio functions at a higher price. Cons: 1) Replacing the batteries will invalidate all presets. 2) The volume knob and its position is odd on the leftmost side of the dial. , and not buttons with all other functions! 3) The sound quality is borderline even for a talk show. 4) The silver color in the photo is dull gray in real life. 5) Bulky in size.

for a small portable radio works surprisingly well. We live in a very rural area where it is difficult to get a radio signal, this radio works fine on AM or FM. We record short waves but they are a bit scratchy and weak. But then again, we have a terrible location for radio signals. We really like this device and would recommend it to anyone looking for a small portable device.

I use this radio for work when I drive. It's not bad, but not as clear as I was hoping. The downside is that the watch stays on all the time, so I'm not sure how much it drains the rechargeable batteries I use. However, if you remove the batteries to extend life, you will need to reset all stations. I think they should include a 6 volt wall plug, even if that adds a few bucks to the price I'll buy it eventually. This is a pretty solid radio that gets the job done.

There are no issues with functionality, everything works. The tripod function and timer function were very nice little additions for a small portable radio like this. Now why 4 and not 5 stars. The sound could have been better, I wasn't expecting great sound but it was a bit heavier than I thought it would be. And the volume control is on the left, which is a bit inconvenient for right-handed users. Those are the only nits I have to pick. They take the star off the rating but I'm still happy…

This radio is great value for money! Reception on all bands is excellent and it picks up stations that can be fuzzy even on larger radios. The numeric station search is very helpful in finding radio stations as you can enter them directly by frequency or search for stations. The sound in the headphones is stereo and also clear. Adding 3 AA batteries saves time and preset stations. Other features include tone controls, a DX/local receive switcher and an alarm clock. All in all, this radio is a…
