I ordered two shelves and placed them so my cats can walk to the large ledge above the front door. I put in two different types of scratching posts and their favorite blankets and they just love that they can go up there and look down at everything. I bought this in place of another cat tree because there wasn't enough room for another tree and I have a wide tall window that my cat really wants to look out of so this was mounted on the wall under that window, and now my kitten can walk/run/jump there. I bought two sets of these shelves and moved them - one lower, one higher on the wall but close enough for cats to easily jump from bottom to top ( like a ladder).
