Great for the MiSTer project

Nice general purpose SNES style controller plus switch compatible, comes with USB dongle and original SNES connector, great price, great build quality!

Didn't work with RetroPie

Controller could be perfect, absolutely perfect; although it failed to pair with the USB stick, making it completely unusable. It's possible for the controller to connect to other devices, but definitely not to RetroPie. Such an incredible disappointment.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Negative experience

Like their Sega controllers, this one is great!

I've been a huge Retrobeat fan ever since they released the Sega controllers. I bought this one because I was curious how they would make SNES. I love that it's 2.4GHz and not Bluetooth, I have low latency and it's very easy to set up! I love that you can plug the dongle into the SNES and the USB into the Switch, which makes cross-device use very easy. I noticed that the OS is similar if not identical to the Sega 2.4Ghz controller which was very easy to use for updates.

Pros
  • Nicely built
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

Pretty good dpad, thumb friendly

Not a bad controller. The Dpad is very smooth and comfortable for your thumb. The buttons are ok, but nothing special. The analog sticks are completely useless and just plain awful. Buttons on the shoulders are not very comfortable and I would have preferred one button on each shoulder. I think I actually prefer Dpad on this 8bitdo controller. The time will show. For some reason the SNES receiver didn't work with my Daemonbite adapter on my MiSTer. Although the USB adapter works fine. The SNESโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Long wait

Not bad for the price

First of all I like retro beat products and I really think they stood out with their Sega 6 and 8 button controllers; fair price and excellent quality. Overall I think it's a good option for the price, although don't expect the build quality to compare to something like the 8BitDo SN30 Pro controller. an odd choice, and while they're manageable, the small analog sticks don't really appeal to me (though I won't be using them much anyway). The keys have a nice feel and the thin L/R keys may notโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Style 90
