Too bad I didn't read the reviews.

I usually read reviews before buying. As many have said, this product just doesn't look real. The powder is flat (no design), no product information or barcode on the back. I just don't feel comfortable putting it on my face. Interestingly, Rimmel has a link to this very page on their website. However the packaging is terrible and the plastic lid is cracked.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Thin but good good for the face

I am male and bought this to reduce shine when shooting marketing videos. I mention this to differentiate this review from others that might target, say, a woman using this as a base, or something similar. This powder is thin and the results were a little less dramatic than I expected. I don't look prettier or prettier. Still flaws and all - just *a little* less shiny. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, but maybe in the future I'll try other products that help me look better in front of the…

Just what I needed

This is a perfectly suited powder with a low perfume smell and a lovely translucent finish that hides the shine without being too matte. More importantly, this is just the right size for a vintage Stratton Compact. Apply some heat to the bottom and the pan pops out, ready to be placed in that fancy 1960s compact you stole from your grandma or bought on Etsy. No more tyranny of flimsy plastic cans stuffed to death in your overstuffed purse! You'll look and feel like the coolest bitch on the…

Does its job in powder

Does what I want: reduces shine, evens skin tone, provides a makeup base. Doesn't irritate me. Easy to apply with a brush and holds up well. The lids are flimsy and break easily so I wish they would make a nice compact that you could put fillers in like my grandma did! UPDATE: I have purchased this powder multiple times. This time it arrived without a piece of the lid which had broken off in transit. That's Revain Fulfillment's fault, not Rimmel's. Luckily at least the powder is intact. But…

Great for a matte finish

I have been using this product for many years. Apply it and it keeps my face matte all day. Transparent is new to me, but that's okay. It goes on VERY easily, then absorbs and blends into my skin tone (I have a medium to light white girl). Like other reviewers, my product came without protective bubble wrap and the compressed powder was broken into 18 million pieces. It was a disaster. Revain packers must be male and unfamiliar with the delicate world of face powder. HOWEVER, following the…

Amazing pressed powder!

I've been using this powder for ages. Fixes the make-up perfectly. Has some coverage and when applied over foundation my 63 year old skin looks flawless. Never roll into lines or slide over imperfections. I have normal to dry skin, but this powder never looks or feels dry or clammy. All Rimmel has to do is change the awful packaging. The lid is always loose so carrying it in my purse is problematic but I always overlooked that because the powder is amazing.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Long delivery time
