Love it! After trying the RJCLIP, I noticed that the connector has a large latch on the end of the cable that prevents it from being inserted far enough for a good connection. After I cut the tab flush with the rest of the end, it snapped firmly into place. PERFECT! Expensive, but better than another radical operation to replace the entire connector.

The description does not mention that these clamps will not work without operation on the clamp if your defective plug has a protector/strain relief protector. If your boot slips back you're in luck, if not get out your Xacto knife because you'll have to cut the boot off. I decided against it because I was concerned it would weaken the cable connections to the plug and my cable is expensive and of little use if broken.

I'm not easily impressed and rarely write reviews. However, this RJClip is simple, effective and works like a charm! It was very easy to install (took 10 seconds) and eliminated the mess of expensive 100ft CAT5 cable. I recommend you get a pack and try it yourself. Order them even if you don't need them, because the little hard plastic tabs that hold the cable in the receiver are notorious for breaking at the worst possible moment! Network cable heads are not standardized. Their connectors, overall width, and spacing may be the same, but of the 6 different cables I tested with, only one worked well and barely the second. I couldn't even mount it on the other 4. With a barely working cable, it locked in the network connector and I barely pulled it out. Network cables aren't very cheap, and even better quality plastic will break after being pulled and plugged in several times.
