Vise is right! It remains incredibly secure, yet highly customizable. I have a Galaxy Note 5 installed on my Subaru STi. the biggest phone and the stiffest gimbal. I had no trouble installing the glass or attaching the vise to my A-pillar mount. Don't waste your money on $10 mounts. It will survive 10 of them.

You must offer one made of metal. The plastic parts of the base and mount transmit too much road vibration to the phone. The base stays in place and the clamp arms work great, but don't watch your phone bounce on less-than-ideal roads unless you're feeling sick. I would pay twice as much for a device that holds the phone steady like a part of a car.

Couldn't get any better with this iPhone X dash car mount and bracket. The device actually stays firmly on my GMC dash and never comes loose. I have tried other brands and other brands have never been securely attached to my dash. Arkon is easy to mount on your dashboard and simply place your iPhone X in the holder. Well done Arkon! I would like to add that I bought a second mount for my other car.

Save money. This thing isn't worth half of what they're asking, let alone the full $40+ price tag. The slightest amount of sunlight or heat above 60F and it falls right off your dashboard/windshield. While cold, it holds up well enough most of the time as long as you don't press down on the device too hard. Once warm, forget about using it for anything other than a paperweight. Nothing sticks.

I bought this for my head so I can't talk to the base. It's solid and looks well made, but I haven't tried it on the dashboard. I needed a mount with a 17mm ball mount and it worked for me. The one who came in my car had a weak head. It is durable plastic and metal. Once in the jaw I don't see anything to remove it. If I use a base I can add but the price of the head compared to the entire mount was only $5 so it was easy.

This mount offers the best performance. From cold, frosty mornings in PNW to hot summer trips to California. This mount sat in the same place for almost a year and never fell off the industrial grade adhesive pad I had attached to the dash. We have a second one in our hunting truck. We were shocked by the power when going on extremely bumpy rides. This is the best mount you've ever had. We will buy them again and also recommend them.

Definitely buy a bracket, very reliable! This mount is incredibly strong, comes with detailed step-by-step instructions - you won't feel lost during installation - is reusable and WILL NEVER DISCONNECT WHILE DRIVING or at rest!
