Doesn't matter

Trying to put the wires in the groove requires a lot of effort. A ground wire kept coming loose, so I threw it in the trash. $5.00 I bought a good quality outlet and it was a lot easier to install.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Exact replacement for my RV wall socket

This is an exact replacement for the original wall socket in my RV. It is designed to be wall mounted without bolts or other substrates. The 120-volt AC power cords are pushed into the back of the unit, and small fold-out outlets run behind a wall opening, with screws holding the unit in place.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Some little things

no special tools required

This unit has become an exact replacement for my Prime Time Crusader double ended jack. I used large pliers to block the channel and a white back cover to push all three wires of the cable into place. I made two cables (the duplex output was in the middle of the circuit) separately using this technique. I was done in five minutes. The AC clamp can also be used to hold the white back cover in place.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • I have no problems, everything is fine

Just like an OEM in your RV!

Yes, if you're looking for the same crappy socket that was used in your RV, this is it! Replace that inferior outlet with the exact same inferior outlet! If your RV is built like mine you don't really have room for a standard junction box so you'll have to use these crappy ones. It's exactly the same as the one I replaced, same crappy connections, same crappy quality! 5 stars for equality, 1 star even for being legal to use something like this! It goes up to 3 stars I think.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

The description and picture show that part #S811 RV Designer is a free standing outlet and will be replacing the one in my trailer. This means the connections are internal and no electrical junction box is required. The picture also shows screw fasteners on opposite corners with a plastic dowel. What I received is marked S811 as in the description, but it's actually a standard home socket that needs a box by code. So you get a regular outlet for 5 times the price of Home Depot. Luckily Revain…

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons
  • Slightly Torn

Mismatched parts are best for wallplates and accessories

Mismatched parts, with white and white and black and black wire markers in a line, back cover that was a completely different color didn't match agree with the recipient. Bad quality control.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Good but not great
