This is an exact replacement for the Sterilight S5Q-PA UV System. I've bought these before and they work just as well as the original bulbs that came with the system. I installed my system in 2012 and change the UV lamp once a year. I definitely recommend this light as a cheaper alternative to other flashlights.

I purchased 3 replacement UV lamps for my water purification system. But on my system the lightbulbs didn't work and I don't think it's the company's fault. I suspect they were mishandled at the time of delivery. However, after confirming that I had installed them correctly and some of the other new bulbs were working, they kindly refunded me all my money even though the normal 30 day return period had expired a few months ago.

Three notes. The lamp I received had droplets of mercury in the tube which I had never seen before. Mercury fumes fall off naturally, I doubt it. Second, there are two opaque plastic strips on the outside of the bottle that run the full length of the tube from cap to cap and a ring in the center of the bottle as if holding these strips on the tube. Why? The problem with the stripes and the ring is that they prevent the UV radiation from getting into the water on the way: they create a shadow…
