Installed on my 7 year old Toshiba laptop, I already had 8GB but needed more for photo editing. It was very easy to install and Windows saw an extra 4GB of RAM immediately after booting.

I bought this for my new HP laptop which only came with 4GB RAM. I added it and it doubled my RAM and is faster. My laptop has quad core processors with HP Pavilion Windows 10 chipset.

MY LAPTOP didn't even try to start; assumed it was a sheep. got new RAM and the computer started immediately. Aries can be corrupt. The best way to test your RAM is to swap out the RAM chip for a known good one.

This should have matched the existing SODIMM memory in HP's AIO for Dual Channel RAM and it works great. I ran the MemTest utility overnight with no errors. If you don't need to adapt an existing module I would go with Micron as they tend to be cheaper and/or perform better.

This was the same make and part number that was already on the HP laptop I bought it for. The laptop has recognized the RAM and is still running at 1600 MHz. It didn't come in retail packaging, but it works and costs a few dollars less than other options available, so I have no complaints.

Rated 3 stars in the Original category because the sticker was Hynix Korea brand and not Samsung. However, the specs were identical to other Samsung sticks I've had. It worked great, I bought it because I already had a Samsung 4GB 800MHz DDR3 1.35V M471B5173DB0-YK0 but I wanted to upgrade to 8GB on a Lenovo Mini PC. It worked, just disappointed that it's not a Samsung as described on the box.
