Not worth your time or money

This wax molding material didn't work for me at all - it was difficult to work with, and didn't produce the results I was looking for. I'm an experienced artist in the Arts and Crafts field, but through trial and error, I found that this product simply wasn't up to par. The only pro is that it does have a good texture, but the cons outweigh that in every other way. Save yourself the trouble and try a different product.

Pros
  • Excellent quality microcrystalline wax for molding and casting projects.
Cons
  • There is a limited amount of wax in a single pound package, making it more expensive compared to other options on the market.

but terrible for making useful detailed negatives

Too soft and sticky to cut. I'll probably use it to make wax positives, but it's terrible for making useful detailed negatives.

Pros
  • Hugely popular for modeling and cutting
Cons
  • Piggy bank prize

Too soft (softer than Victory Brown)

I'm surprised by the positive reviews and high ratings. This wax is: too soft and sticky for perfect sculpting, too soft/sticky for carving and should not be compared to old Victory Brown. So $18+s/hr is too expensive for this product and I wouldn't recommend it for serious sculptors.

Pros
  • Sculpture House Microcrystalline Wax
Cons
  • No Instructions
