🌊 Sea Dog Windshield Brace Kit - Model 324310-1 Review

I used this to fit a 1994 Procraft windshield mount. Genuine black. I ended up just using the bottom part. The plastic ends don't articulate as much as the originals. The ends are plastic. They're also likely to break over time, since the original, made of some kind of metal alloy, also broke.

High-quality components, but incomplete "kit". I understand that the kit does not include any fasteners (on the boat and on the windshield itself) but this 'kit' should include a tube insert and screw to attach the plastic bases to the tube. For a few cents more it would be complete and usable. I ordered this because the brackets I'm replacing have rusty/torn inserts and now I realize this kit doesn't have everything I need to put it together let alone install it.

This worked well enough for my application but seriously no screws to hold it all together? I had stainless steel screws that worked, but I saw this as a problem for those who don't have them on hand. I understand that I do not provide mounting hardware, but two screws of the correct length and diameter must be included to attach the plastic parts that are part of the product we ordered. The picture shows the assembled block but this cannot be achieved with what will be sent to you.

Good price, you have to cut the tube to length yourself, just what I wanted to get the right size. I used a pipe cutter to make a clean cut and then slightly bent the ends of the pipes after placing them on the supports to keep them from slipping back. (Hiting a nail with a hammer might also work.) You must provide your own screws; I used two 1-inch #10 sheet metal screws; Other browsers refer to the "image" instruction website if you don't know how to put it together.

This met my needs. No screws are supplied so make sure you save the old parts or purchase the correct screws before installing. This was a relatively easy install, but you will need a hacksaw to cut the pipe to length. The plastic plugs that fit into the aluminum tube have been loosened slightly at one end of the tube. If I had to do it all over again I would crimp the ends of the tube a bit to increase the "buy" of the cap on the tube or use some super glue. Be sure to dry everything before…
