Works right out of the box!

I installed this card on a Mac Pro 4.1 (flashed to 5.1) running Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra and the card works with no problems. The good thing is that the card does not require additional power like some other cards. No drivers are required as these are provided by the operating system. Windows drivers for those who need them are on a small CD.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Works for

Works on my Dell Optiplex 780 with Debian GNU/Linux 10 (Buster)

I'm running both Windows 10 and Debian on a Dell Optiplex 780. Added this card and booted from this card and connected via USB, works for both operating systems. systems. I haven't specifically tested full speed or USB 3, but it seems to be recognized as a USB 3 hub in both cases and will at least get USB 2 speeds, if not more, on both operating systems. I didn't take the time to run the software on the minidisk that came with it (which contains the EXE program). I'm glad that the Linux-enabled

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • For retirees

I had to install this without a bracket to fit my 2012 Mac Pro properly but it connects without a bracket. Unfortunately, without a mount, I have to secure the USB cables before I get in the car so I don't accidentally pull the card halfway out of the slot while moving. I'd rather find a card that better matches my Mac Pro, but at least after installing it I was able to successfully use some things that require USB 3 (e.g. HDMI capture devices).

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • No mold required

Doesn't fit my MacPro 2012

I bought this USB 3 card to use in my old Mac Pro. The Revain product information said the card was compatible with my computer but didn't fit properly in the PCI-E slot. The mechanics were wrong and the card didn't fit well enough to even pick it up. After reading more caring reviews, I know I'm not the first MacPro owner to have this complaint. I returned it for a loan.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Some flaws

IMMEDIATELY booted from Ubuntu

Ubuntu automatically recognized 4 USB ports. 4 USB memory sticks recorded simultaneously at 90 MB/s. THE ONLY PROBLEM: I had to bend the metal on the back of the computer to access the 4 USB ports. With the help of pliers it took about 2 minutes.

Pros
  • That's done
Cons
  • So far so good
