While this did in fact come with instructions, they lacked the proper context needed to make assembly a whole easier. You will DEFINITELY need more than one tool to complete assembly. One tool to hold the head of the bolt still and in place, and another tool to do the actual tightening. I used a pair of pliers and a pair of vice grips because that's what I had on hand that worked for the process. If you get this make sure you have the tools to assemble it. It does not come with tools and you will need a decent socket set (metric and SAE standard) and an adjustable crescent wrench or a good pair of pliers.The instructions are just pictures but are not difficult to follow. I did get a bit confused as one of my bottom end pieces had the holes drilled incorrectly. This is a great firewood rack. It actually is inside on the hearth, right next to the fire place where we like to stack wood for burning in the winter. I asked my nephew to assemble it. He is a high school student and he did it with an closed end wrench and a socket wrench. Took him maybe a half hour.Bottom line, you will be happy with this purchase, inside or out.

Everything related to this rack is of great quality. The box is sturdy, and was fully taped at all seams. All pieces were individually wrapped in plastic. Thin foam sheets kept the pieces separated.
