Unusual cable design

All foil shielding is just what you need - durable foil, not metalized mylar. Underneath the film is a transparent plastic (insulating) film. Under the foil is a thin tinned ground wire and four twisted pairs separated by a plastic groove. I don't understand why the ground wire is needed as it is insulated from the screen film. An efficient and reliable shield connection will be problematic.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • A nuisance

Great cable, a bit expensive for what it is and for the spool

The cable itself is a bit pricey just for the wooden spool but well worth it in the end as I keep the spool and then get the cheaper one Cable. Wind on the spool. The wire is great for what it is, but it ends up being too stiff for all the up close things that are expected of this Category 6 shielded cable, but honestly I think there is a way around this to reduce as I used a similar quality and was much easier to work with.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Ideal. I like the spool it appears on.

Excellent product. Did a couple of runs, one of which was over 100ft underground, and the cable was twisted quite heavily in some sort of PVC, but still has excellent performance. It's a little tricky to work with, but that's only due to the cable size you have with shielded CAT6. The reel is really handy and makes it a more professional process when laying cable rather than pulling it out of the box.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • There are cons

Always crosstalk when you are in a wall.

I wanted to upgrade my 12 year old harness to a new category 6 version Now my original harness was and still is 1000 speeds but it was old. I've re-routed 450 feet of this cable, shows crosstalk every time. with the old cable next to the new cable, the old cable, no crosstalk, speed 1000, the maximum crosstalk rate of the new cable is 100Mbps. I can only imagine that the outer shell is not enough to block EVERYTHING. I tried a 30ft piece, not in the wall, and running the wire through the wall…

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Great cable! in Cat 6 cables

I use this cable all over my house, it's tough enough to go through walls but flexible enough to use for patch cords. Twisted pairs are fairly tight and can be awkward to straighten for installation in an outlet, but on the other hand, tight turns reduce electrical noise significantly. Good shielding, insulation and separators. I would buy it again in a heartbeat in New York.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Good but not great
