Shoei Clear Pinlock Shield for RF-1100/X-12/Qwest Helmets Review

I've had issues with fogging from 40F to sub zero. Adding a visor and a pinlock lens completely solved the problem. I've done a thorough cleaning and taken the time to fit the lens into the Pinlock visor and it's immaculate. There are small "rainbows" at night, but they are not extreme and do not disturb my vision much.

This item is an absolute must if you ride in winter. I'm not sure what kind of black magic is actually at work inside him, but he's completely cleared that haze that's been bothering me since the temperature has dropped. The installation is quite easy. Just make sure you don't touch the mist absorbing part with your fingers. Also: make sure you get the right model for your helmet. For example, it fits RF-1100 with CW-1 face shield but may not work with other helmets.

As many people have said and been pretty blunt. This is intended for daytime use only. At night each light has a rainbow like star/ring pattern. Pretty cool if you like that sort of thing when driving through a downtown area with lots of lights - building lights, streetlights, oncoming headlights, etc. However. I still prefer to wear it because I can keep the lid closed, stay warm and deal with the rainbow. I have never noticed. and I tried very hard. I rode in temperatures below 30 degrees and
