Excellent mids and highs. Thin bass.

After using these headphones for some time and comparing them to other in-ear and in-ear headphones I own and to a set of over-ear headphones, I've come to the conclusion that that this is not the frequency answer I like. They handle the mids and highs very well, and the bass is very clear and punchy, but lacks power. What I mean is that you can hear individual bass notes very clearly, as opposed to a hodgepodge of bass sounds. But the trade-off for this clarity is that it sounds a bit thinโ€ฆ

They're high quality - learn how to use them and you'll be rewarded

With no fewer than 18 different sizes of ear tips to choose from, you'll need to experiment to find the right one for your ears Find. You. As a result I had a medium ear in my left ear and a large ear in my right ear. The low frequency response of my Sansa 4GB unit is NOT a floorstanding subwoofer/bass reflex unit, but it is better than anything else I have looked at. If the earbuds are not properly installed, the sound will be less "right" either because of the quality of the device or theโ€ฆ

Amazing clarity, great fit

After years of faithful use of my Sony earbuds, I got to the point where I was willing to try a slightly better earbud (too read: The rubber on the right wire was so worn that more than an inch of copper wire was exposed). I settled on a fixed top price of $100 and then began an exhaustive search, tentatively ending with Shure E2c consumer headphones. I've heard a lot about Shure and my friend who works in the recording studio assured me that everything they do has to be of high quality. Mostโ€ฆ

Know yourself and your expectations: think point and click, not an SLR camera

These are the first in-ear headphones I've ever used. Therefore, my review has no comparative value. At the same time, Shure in-ear headphones offer very high-quality sound. They're certainly better than any pair of over-ear phones I've used, admittedly only $20-$100. I use the camera analogy because I think how satisfied you will be depends a lot on your expectations and needs. These phones are the equivalent of a very sharp camera that takes good pictures.
