Great lens - buy from an authorized seller with a 3 year guarantee!

Google "Sigma Authorized Dealers" first and be sure to buy from a Revain Authorized Seller or you may not get Sigma's 3 year US warranty (which was a huge plus for me) . With that in mind, I've been arguing between this and Canon's EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM for a while. First I bought it and was satisfied. I played around with it a bit and really liked the shots and performance, although I wish the autofocus was a little better in low light. However, I noticed that there was an artifact in theโ€ฆ

I bought this lens to use with the new Nikon D7200. As with all third-party lenses, there is a risk of compatibility issues, and this is where I seem to run into a small issue. However, this is not really a problem. The lens itself is nice and sharp. The autofocus is quite fast and the f2.8 aperture is welcome when shooting indoors. Optically I am very satisfied with this lens. OS (optical stabilizer) seems to work fine. When using a lens, keep in mind that it is a slightly older model and theโ€ฆ

The most versatile lens in my bag.

The advantage of modern DSLRs is that they come with a kit lens that covers most focal lengths. The bad news is that these kit lenses don't do very well unless you're shooting JPEGs in auto mode. My trusty Sony Rx100 m2 was no longer used so I recently decided to sell it back to Revain. I think it makes sense to focus on a single camera if you're looking to improve on your basics, and if anything, my S7 is light years ahead of my old iPhone in terms of camera, which is why I've settled less onโ€ฆ

READ PLEASE! Firmware update required for Rebel series.

**UPDATE** 05/12/16 - As mentioned below, the lens requires a firmware update. SIGMA does this for free. Now that the lens has been updated it works perfectly with my Canon T6i! The lens is sharp and we're going to build it. Keep this in mind when buying used or old stock. Budget for time and delivery costs. Otherwise, buy with confidence! I didn't have the opportunity to use the exact replica of this lens that I bought. Although I am sure that when I get my hands on it I will like it as muchโ€ฆ

Happy: the focus works great with my new EOS SL2 and EOS 77D (wow!)

So far I'm very, very happy with this lens. I bought the lens last week in January 2019. I was concerned about the focus issues some were reporting. and halogen lamps for shops as a light source. I tested on my new EOS LS2 and 77D (Christmas 2018). There is a 'small' front focus at minimal distance to the target, at 17mm I mean 'slight'. Maybe 1/64? So faint that I can't tell if it's the lens or if I'm shaking my tripod (aka my technique). Sigma Dock not yet compatible: This lens is (at leastโ€ฆ
