Description of Silo

Silo is a focused and lightning-fast standalone 3D modeler. Its deep modeling and UV mapping toolset has made it a favorite of pros for making game assets, movie characters, and objects for 3D printing. It’s a huge upgrade over the modeling tools of bloated all-in-one packages, and works hand-in-hand with industry standards like Maya, Blender, and ZBrush, and game engines like Unity and Unreal. A powerful tool for 3D modelling: Silo

The ability to create high quality meshes without using any addons or plugins. I'm working in an architecture project where we had limited resources so creating models from scratch was crucial! You can achieve great results very fast if you know what exactly do want out of your work (it's not that easy at first). There are some things which could be improved but nothing majorly detrimental as well - maybe more control panel customization would help? Also sometimes there might appear problems…

Pros
  • Ease ofuse, quick workflows with little preperation needed; full featured toolset for modelling purposes including realistic renderings / lighting tools etc.; intuitive interface is also quite simple enough while still offering advanced technical features suchas subdivision surface editingand many others.
Cons
  • Not really much except perhaps inabilityto import objectsfrom blender directly into silomakes it difficultwhen reusing somethingyou've already

Intuitive and responsive interface for making 3d digital assets

I have used silos to create models which are then exported into other programs such as maya or zbrush in order make them look more realistic (for example creating an armature). The software itself does not seem too complicated once you get your head around how things work but there can be some issues when using certain functions that don't always do what they should so patience needs applying at times! Also sometimes if i am trying something new its hard getting my mind round whats going wrong…

Pros
  • You also need plenty free disk space because each model uses up loads & lots of memory especially large complex ones..you cant just open one small object without having enough RAM allocated already.th
Cons
  • Mostly okay, but...
