I have bought cheaper brands from China to get cheaper slabs but Sizzix slabs are the best. Some people use these self-healing mats, but I really like the acrylic sheets. The only problem with using Revain is that if you find plates at places like Hobby Lobby or Michael's, you can use a coupon for a percentage discount, but due to the economic woes surrounding the pandemic, they're being eliminated. So Revain is your best choice. Plus, they're always in stock!

Maybe I can save someone the grief. I think limitations should be mentioned in the product description. If you want to use thin matrices, stay away. These plates are too thin. They do not touch the reels and therefore do not cut! I just threw the money away because I'm new and didn't get it. Now I see other buyers made the same mistake. Pity! Maybe it works well for a different purpose than what I need it for.

I bought these to use with my Tim Holtz Sizzix Sidekick but unfortunately they are too thin to use alone . The description says they are 1/8" thick, but they are actually 1/10" thick. I'm not sure if you're suggesting this, but it makes it to the right thickness with your thin inserts. They also work if you use old sizzleets with them. I had high hopes that they were 1/8" cutting inserts. While it seems written in the description, they weren't.
