I use them to hold my pants, loops or not. I have very small buttocks, so shorts and trousers gradually sink lower and may even fall off. They can be worn under a blouse, sweater, any top and over pants. They stay where I put them and no more awkward falls or saggy butts. The only problem is that the strap was too big and they are not adjustable. I had to use a sewing machine or needles to make it smaller but they worked fine when I was adjusted.
