I've searched through dozens of belts looking for a black fine leather, 1 1/4 inch wide with a rivet to hold the belt loop. Well, this was the closest I could find, but it's 1 3/8 inches wide (making it a little tight in the belt loop for some). It also doesn't have a rivet, but it has enough extra skin for me to attach a "Chicago Rivet". I don't care about the metallurgy of the buckle, but it matters to some.

Like other reviews, I bought this belt because nickel irritates my skin, it cracks and causes severe itching. about a week. Then the view disappeared and I returned to field one with a belt I couldn't use. I would not recommend this belt to anyone who specifically needs it due to the lack of nickel or other irritating metals.

Don't get me wrong this belt is a lifesaver, as I am allergic to nickel I was disappointed with the price of nickel free belts which are actually many times cheaper they contain no nickel, they are simply covered with some kind of transparent coating that wears off over time. My rash goes away quickly. The burning sensation of wearing a belt is a distant nightmare. I am very happy that I found this belt. This is my favorite belt and I wear it every day with my khakis.
