Much smaller than it looks!

Please check the dimensions before purchasing. This product was MUCH smaller than I expected for the price and purpose. It's about the size of a ream of carbon paper. I can technically put some sand in it for my son to use his sand toys, but I don't think it should be advertised for that purpose. I definitely wouldn't have spent $24 if I knew I was getting this. Lesson learned.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Out of fashion

It's nice and sturdy but I had 2 small invisible cracks on the bottom

My son loves it, he's only had it for a few hours and has been playing with his sand in it ever since, I have a little problem so, namely it has 2 cracks in the shell and i would like to send it as a replacement but my son said he didn't want to wait for another one so i seal the bottom but bj i told him i can't water pour in because the cracks will flow, so I'm a little disappointed with that, but he's happy with it, so it's ok.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons

Returnable immediately after opening

The description says the lid is lockable but it is not. There are knobs that slide into a position you think will lock the lid, but they are very loose and don't lock the lid properly. I bought this for kinetic sand for my kids and with the unreliable lid I've seen a lot of spills in our future. I went to my local craft chain and bought pretty much the same thing for less than half the price and with a lid that actually latches and I'm a lot happier.

VERY overpriced!

This is not a "therapy sand tray". I think more people will buy it if you call it that. This box/tray/container will not remain closed. One of the handles fell off on first use and the lid had a small crack. I noticed this after pouring sand into it. I give it back! For the price I thought it would be better and bigger. Measure before you buy! I would not recommend this for sand! Not much space to play at all. I added 3 pounds of kinetic sand and there was no room left for molds or scuppers…

"really useful box "

Was hoping for something bigger but they (I bought 2) seem sturdy and while the top seal is probably not waterproof (which would be handy but not that, what I wanted ) It was exactly what I ordered. The interior has nice clean lines that don't hide the sand when I'm ready to dump it. Of the 3 colors I could easily see on Revain, blue was the cheapest and while still a little pricey just for an empty tray. They appear to be better made, with thicker plastic and a squarer interior. To quote the…

My favorite is the Sports & Outdoor Play Box

I like the box but not the company that sells it. This box is made by Really Useful Boxes and sold at Staples/Office Depot for TRIPLE the price. Unfortunately, I only discovered this after buying 5 boxes. Some companies think you can just label a box "Therapy" or "Play Therapy" and sell it for triple the price. I don't think it creates any value, it's just a guess. bad business practice. It's okay to select products that can be used in play therapy, but that doesn't give a company the right to…
