The aluminum nut is a weak point

If you overtighten the nut, the aluminum nut will break. If you have a heavy load, e.g. a monitor, you need to tighten it to keep it from moving. The nut can be easily replaced with a wing nut and washer if it breaks. I didn't get a response from their warranty department so I'm not overly impressed.

Excellent addition to any camera setup (and beyond)

Designed specifically for camera frames, this articulating arm is so versatile I own two and use them for other things. I use one with a tripod to hold my iPad and the other with my webcam. I also used it with backlight. I find the length ideal and while I also have the longer version, this shorter version is much more versatile and stable.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

I've experienced this about 5 times on set, and .

I've used this about 5 times on set and it has worked well. But today the ball bearing just came loose (while the arm was locked and tightened during the interview) and it won't go back in. In addition, there is now a screw with an external thread on my Icahn that has a ball bearing. Monitor.WTH! I had to cut the interview short completely because even though I had a spare screw I couldn't get it in as the SmallRig screw is now locked into my IKan!

Very poorly made, best stabilizers

This broke on me after one use. I wasn't trying to support anything heavy, just an Atomos Shinobi with a battery. But two different things failed immediately: first (less of a problem) the glue holding the rubber grommet on each end spattered onto the sides when screwed in; The second (more serious problem) when attempting to fully tighten the cocking lever to prevent movement, the internal mechanism broke and the whole thing began to wobble. I've used a lot of spanners and a lot of small items

The quality is the best. Available

I had to order again because I lost mine, but I went with it because the articulating arms are useful AND handy when you're on set or in production. But I also use it for many things, not only for monitors or LED lights, but also for flashlights or other flash modifiers. The quality is excellent with some other rigs, there is a guarantee, but I also use it for a few things, not only for LED backlit monitors, but also for flashlights or other flash modifiers. The quality is excellent on some…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Can I add something?

Great little hand, suitable for professional video accessories

This is a great little hand. I use them to set up a Teradek transmitter and Heden receiver, and then focus on the cameras mounted on the Ronin. The advantage of this weapon in this scenario is that it can be set and forgotten. The sockets hold firmly and do not slip. The downside of sockets would be the small monitor situation where you just want to quickly adjust it with one hand instead of solving everything. For example, just take the monitor and retouch it a bit to avoid glare. In this…
