Ease of Use - no twist required, the unique plug body shape and push-in design means it only goes in the right way every time - even in the dark. Multi-point locking System - side clips and Inlet cover lock the plug body securely into the Inlet which eliminates any stress from movement of the power cord. Weatherproof seals - multi-fin silicone gaskets installed in the interior of the plug body eliminate any water penetration when plug is connected to Inlet. 125 Volt / 250 Volt . Blue LED power indicator light - Cordset has two blue LEDs to increase visibility. Quick and Easy Installation- Inlet mounting flange holes match twist-type holes for an installation that is typically finished in 30 minutes- the total install takes less than 60 minutes.

Works as advertised

My last few cables caught fire at the end of the boat (I have two 30Amp cables). After two months there were no traces of the burn and the sockets fitted completely into all the holes, so the installation took only a few minutes. When do you get a simple project?

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • I won't say anything

What is your boat worth to you?

The order came quicker than expected and was exactly as advertised. We've been using standard plug sets for years and have smoked a few. I read an article about a smart socket and was immediately intrigued by the concept. Yes, the cable set and connector on the boat is expensive, but given the risk of fire on our boat, the cost is minimal. These are very well thought out cable sets and we will justify the investment.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember

A safer electrical entry solution. Easy installation.

1967 rebuilt boat. Easy Installation - Simple installation instructions are included, installation connections are clearly marked on the inlet. Attached the supplied adhesive-backed foam/rubber pad to the case over the old hole (the original hole was slightly smaller), so I used a dremel tool with a small sanding attachment to gouge out the old hole with the smartplug foam/rubber one Template for the exact shape - turned out great. Installation took about 20 minutes.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

How it works.

Inserts smoothly and holds line weight at entry better than spiral style. However, we ordered two. One on each side of our 42 foot Grand Banks. We were able to install one on the starboard side as the wiring from the boat was fine. However, on the port side, the wiring from the boat was 8 gauge and there was no way to plug that wire into a smart outlet. Sent Revain back with no problems. Another alternative was to get back on the boat, which is another project for another day.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Easier and safer - spares

I had one on my previous boat and loved it. This is a more secure connection than the old plug and is much easier to use. Instead of hanging over the transom of my boat trying to connect the old style and then trying to attach a yoke that always seems to cross over, with this line I just have to snap into place. The installation on my 2014 Catalina 315 sailboat was very easy. No drilling. It took about 20 minutes and I'm usually slow on this matter. Definitely recommend it.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great
