I like the red dot finder in general but this is too bright to see and find faint stars and objects even at low settings. It's actually pretty bright, but the good news is that it will get you close, but you'll have to scan with the telescope yourself. Engineering changes are required to significantly reduce brightness. I'll be looking for an additional Celestron red dot oscilloscope in a minute.
