Stuck after 4-5 starts

I am an experienced mechanic. This part got stuck closed after cranking my boat maybe 5 times. The price is right so I thought I got a decent piece.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Should have listened to the feedback. It worked well.

Pay attention to the reviews. It worked well several times before it came out. Went to dealer for OEM and no more problems. You get what you pay for. $55 from dealer.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons

Like new. Simple strap switch.

The metal base is slightly different from the original. The mounting holes do not match the holes in the engine block. Removing the clip on the mount to replace the original with a new one is a quick and easy fix. Just make sure to install the rubber seal correctly.

Pros
  • Good item
Cons
  • Good but not great

DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY

Bought a few, returned, exchanged etc! It's HUM! Almost set fire to my husbands boat while it was floating! Bought from the dealer and got the boats fixed! Because of those awful solenoids we thought we had other problems and it ended up costing us more money! I will never buy anything from them! Garbage can! The only good thing is that they refund quickly and easily!

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Not bad but...

An old solenoid ended up being used.

The starter started to slip on my 40hp Mercedes and I figured if I replaced the starter I might as well replace the magneto. I try to start the engine, the starter won't turn off. I loaded the boat up, took it home and started troubleshooting and ended up using the old solenoid and everything worked great. I just ordered another one from another manufacturer and who knows, may have to end up at a boat shop and buy an OEM for $60.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than other picks

Garbage internal short straight out of the box.

This item had external damage from the manufacturer right out of the box, but like an idiot I installed it anyway. When I finished the installation and connected the battery cable, I found that the unit was shorted internally and almost burned out. I picked up my starter on my boat. I wish I had read the reviews first, this product is rubbish. Went to a local dealer and bought an OEM part for 3 times the price but was back on the water the next day.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Tape
