📹 Sony CCDTRV308 Hi8 Camcorder with 2.5" LCD and Video Light (No Longer in Production) Review

I bought this camcorder to convert some old tapes to digital (there was already a converter). The camcorder arrived in very good condition and worked great. Based on this purchase, I highly recommend the seller.

The camcorder I received was marked "good working condition" but it didn't work. I don't recommend ordering from this company as I don't think so They thoroughly test their products before selling them to customers.

I needed a used Hi8 camcorder to digitize old tapes because it would cost more to repair my old one. No AV cable or direct charger (other than an external charger) was supplied, but I still managed to get it working.

This camcorder was exactly what I needed to digitize my Hi8 tapes. I had to buy a converter (EasyCAP) to connect it to my computer, but when I did it worked very well. I have no doubt that the camera recording works too. Good deal for me!

I am very happy with the condition of this camcorder. My old one doesn't work anymore. I received what was advertised. That works great! The battery was even charged. Now I can watch my old family films on TV in 8mm. I plan to output videos on my computer to convert them to a digital format which is more stable and archivable. -R. Peterman

As the camcorder was used and the recording function did not work as mentioned in the listing, the purpose for which it was purchased was to allow me to play Video8 cassettes to burn to DVD, the Device worked perfectly. For the purpose I bought the camcorder for, the camcorder was less expensive than buying a new Video8 deck given the number of cassettes, only about 2 dozen.

waiting for a product with old technology usually means meeting limited requirements. This used camcorder only offers the limited functionality required to play many of my old Hi-8mm children's film cassettes, for example.
