The best video camera for the price

I did a lot of research on the internet and I'm glad I chose this camera. It's very small but fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. It was the right size to be able to use all the functions comfortably and to press the right buttons without any problems. The pictures are excellent and the usability is excellent. The battery life is very good, just remember to always turn it off when not in use. It charges very quickly compared to other devices I've had. I've taken it abroad and there weren't…

Small and very good picture quality.

The CX100 is a good little HD camcorder. The user interface could be a bit simpler. The HD video quality is very good. The camera is small and light, but difficult to hold still (not the camera's fault). The slow motion function is fine, but the lighting needs to be very bright; average lighting is not suitable. Slow motion is very slow, which is nice; looks very cool. And in slow motion it only writes about 5 seconds at a time and then takes about 15 seconds to write to memory. The included…

A good video camera is the best among video cameras

I bought this camera because of the price, but this camcorder has 'good' with 'bad'. Pros: - Outdoors with lots of light, the camera produces amazing HD videos! Even indoors, IF (and I mean big when) you have a lot of light (for example outside during the day) the camera will give you a great picture. The very small camcorder is ideal for taking with you. I liked its smallness. Very easy to use. Just open it and hit the record button. I like the ease of photography when capturing videos or…

Sony HDR-CX100 is a good buy

Sony HDR-CX100 AVCHD HD camcorder with smile shutter and 10x optical zoom (Black) For the price this is a great camcorder. HD quality (1080i) is acceptable when viewed on "standard" size screens. However, there are some pixel errors when playing on my 61" Samsung DLP TV. The main disadvantage is the lack of light. Therefore, it is difficult to achieve good quality in low light conditions. Also, there are sometimes focus issues that seem to require a "reboot" (close and reopen the viewfinder) to

Great camera except in low light

I have nothing to add to what other reviews have said except that the image quality degrades rapidly as the light level decreases. In good light, the picture is stunning (played back on a 50-inch Sony HDTV), but in low-light conditions it can be just as shockingly awful. My best advice is to turn on all the lights in the room and surrounding rooms. If this does not help, increase the power of the lamps. My reference point for low light performance is Sony's 2002 Mini DV camera, which was pretty

Easy to use, fast and ideal for a newborn

I ordered this while my wife and I were in the delivery room waiting for delivery. It came in a few days and was great. It's very easy to get started, which was very important to me - I've never owned and never owned a camcorder. Here's what I found after 3 months of use: Pros - Easy to use - Intuitive setup for those who already use computers and digital cameras - The screen is large and articulated so it's easy to photograph - Great for use with one kid since he turns on fast. So we recorded…

Decent but not the best camcorder

I have owned and used this Sony camcorder for about 6 months. And I just got as far as writing a consumer review. I really wanted to love this camcorder. Nevertheless, I like it very much. But I was disappointed when I shot in the dark. There's no external light to shoot in the dark and all that comes out is a grainy image. However, I knew there was no light in that cell, so I knew what I was getting for my money. The touchscreen menus are comfortable and easy to use once you get used to…

Pleasant surprise

I read all the negative reviews before ordering the camcorder. While I appreciate that they warned me about poor image quality in low light, I was a bit surprised that the camera was recording in low light at all. Mind you, I'm upgrading a huge Sony VHS camcorder I bought in 1998 that just couldn't record without the lamp on in a dimly lit room (which also drained the battery three times faster than normal use), so my expectations of it easily , much lower than most when shooting in low light…
