Sony DVD burner for DVD recorders

When this device works, it works well. No longer available. There is no new device to replace it and it is difficult to find replacement parts when needed. I have two. Wanted to replace my vhss Can't understand why Sony doesn't have anything new to buy if needed.

Pros
  • User-friendly GUI
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Sony DVD Recorder - TV & Video

The best DVD recorder I've ever owned. No problem. Recorded hundreds of DVDs from various sources: computer, digital video camera. Recording via various connections such as S-Video and FireWire. When captured from the camera, the colors are always corrected and even better. Good product. I recommend

Pros
  • One-touch dubbing for DV/D8 via i.LINK

  • Almost never

Excellent TV and Video DVD Recorder

Has all the features I was looking for. Great price ($350) - but I think this model is no longer made (although it's still available in many places). Pros
  • Precision Cinema Progressive 480P for record and playback
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

This unit delivers excellent picture quality and is noticeably more tolerant of different brands of discs than some of the other recorders I've owned. Far fewer "hard drive errors" or "disc not read" messages than my Philips or my Go-Video. Although this device bridges the format gap by writing to…
