XB 13 VERY not loud enough. The new "Sound Spreading" feature isn't flashy enough to require an update. The XB-13 doesn't play loud and makes you want more. The XB-12 was louder and had good bass. The upgrade costs no more than $50. Not recommended. I will pass this on to my nephew.

Good punchy bass for such a compact unit. That's what the owner of significantly more powerful speakers says, I'm actually impressed. Good old-fashioned engineering makes a difference - unlike most other micro devices, Sony has managed to incorporate a passive heatsink that works like a subwoofer to actually reproduce the bass. The lack of these features puts it a league above the competition.
