They are good for outdoor recreation

Not the best yet. But it can be used to get the job done. Bought for starters and I would like a new set but they work well and I don't spend $200 best to strap them on.

I wouldn't trust them myself

Only one star because there is no zero star option. I would NOT trust that if I was climbing a tree with a chainsaw in hand. The pads are attached to the metal frame with zip ties, and the plastic around the zip ties was already showing signs of wear when I took them out of the box. I sent them back immediately.

This is a MUST HAVE for DIYers and occasional tree/pole climbers (homeowners).

Half an hour after opening the shipping carton, I was comfortably lying about 12 feet off the ground with my spikes dug in and my seat belt adjusted and fastened. I have never used such devices. I simply tied these babies to my boots and buckled the belt around my waist, and moments later I was giving my neighbor a thumbs-up and lighting a cigarette while gazing out at his private hedge. All this happiness for less than $100. I plan to prune my own trees 5 to 10 times. I usually free climb with
